How close is Penang Hill Home to the funicular?
It is at the foot of the hill, so the Lower Station is a short drive — which is what makes the early train up realistic rather than theoretical.
Is Kek Lok Si nearby?
A few minutes away at Air Itam. If you are doing both, do the hill first and the temple after.
How many people does it sleep?
Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, sleeping up to eight.
Is this a good base for driving around the island?
It is the best of mine for it. The road across to Balik Pulau starts from this side, George Town is close, and parking here is far easier than in the heritage core.
