If you are here for something at SPICE

Setia SPICE is the island's largest event space, about five minutes from the airport.

It runs roughly 79,000 square metres of exhibition and convention floor, which makes it the venue for most of Penang's trade shows. Homedec Penang runs 2 to 4 October 2026 and Automex 3 to 5 November 2026; the live calendar is on Setia SPICE's own site.

Both of my Bayan Lepas apartments are a short drive from it, and both have parking, which matters more than it sounds during an exhibition week.

If you are here for USM, or visiting someone who is

Three bedrooms and a kitchen usually beats two hotel rooms for a family.

Parents come for open days, graduations and move-in weekends, and they tend to come as a group. An apartment gives everyone a bed, a table to eat at together, and a washing machine.

For a longer stretch, say so when you call. A semester, a placement, a research visit — they all have their own rate.

If you are working at the free trade zone

Comfy Home has a desk, a pool and a gym. Fuji Home has two car parks.

Teams on assignment want the same three things: parking for more than one car, a kitchen so nobody eats out every night, and enough bedrooms that nobody is sharing. Both apartments do all three.

One bit of local planning worth having. Construction on the Penang LRT Mutiara Line began in January 2026, and traffic management around the Bayan Lepas industrial area started rolling out from May. Give the airport run a few more minutes than the map suggests, particularly at shift change.

Where should I stay for an event at SPICE Arena?

Bayan Lepas itself. Both of my apartments there are a short drive from Setia SPICE, each has three bedrooms, and both have parking. Comfy Home has an indoor bay with room outside for a second car, and Fuji Home has two car parks.

Is there family accommodation near USM Penang?

Yes. My two Bayan Lepas apartments each have three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen, and they sleep eight to ten. That suits a family in for a graduation or an open day far better than separate hotel rooms.

Can I book an apartment in Bayan Lepas by the month?

Yes, and it is common here because of the factories and the university. Call or message me and we will agree a monthly rate.

How far is Bayan Lepas from Penang International Airport?

Bayan Lepas is the airport's own district, so it is a short drive. Setia SPICE is about five minutes from the terminal and both apartments are close to that.
